Building on an island presents specific challenges such as trucking materials and equipment by ferry, dealing with island weather, and meeting the very specific construction requirements for building in an island environment. One of the first and largest projects we constructed on the island was a barn and indoor riding arena combination (36’ x 82’ single-aisle stall barn tack/feed/stalls/bath and indoor riding arena (72’ x 200’ x 16’ with operable sliding windows and transom over the barn door, two 6’ x 6’ cupolas on arena and one 4’ x 4’ cupola over the barn. The Vineyard Haven project was built in the mid-90’s and looks almost as good today as it did when it was built.
